National Arbor Day was founded by J. Sterling Morton in 1872, and is celebrated on the last friday in April.
In recognition of Arbor Day, Roberts Conservation District is giving away trees to area fouth graders!
Trees will be given to fouth graders in elementary schools throughout Roberts County. They will receive either the state tree, the Black Hills Spruce or a Common Lilac shrub.  For more information and planting instructions on each tree, download the pdf at the right.
